Frequently asked questions
There’s no monthly fee. Direct booking links plus Instagram, Facebook, and Google bookings are 0% commission. The Golfa marketplace charges Golf Coaches 20% one-time per new client. Founding Golf Coaches get 0% commission on their first 10 bookings, then 10% commission on any marketplace bookings. Returning golfers are always 0%.
Direct bookings (coach’s own link and your Instagram, Facebook, and Google booking paths we support): 0% Golfa commission. Discovery on Golfa (search or map): Golf Coach pays 20% one-time per new client. Founding Golf Coach (first 50 coaches): 0% on your first 10 Golfa marketplace bookings, then 10% on further marketplace bookings — not 20%. Anyone who has booked with you before on Golfa: 0% when they rebook. Each lesson is stored as direct or marketplace (discovery links add the golfa_acq=marketplace query; your shared profile link without it is direct), and the same value is on the Stripe PaymentIntent.
Only when you get paid. Our commission is taken from each booking, so there’s nothing upfront and no hidden costs. Online card payments also include a 1.5% + £0.20 processing fee (payment provider).
Golfa pays coaches by manual bank transfer on a regular schedule (typically weekly), using the bank details you add in your Payments area. You are not paid automatically the moment a golfer checks out — each transfer appears in your payout history with a status and invoice for your records.
For online payments, a 1.5% + £0.20 processing fee applies to cover card and payment processing. This is separate from Golfa’s commission on new bookings.
Your Golfa listing, personal booking link, Instagram/Facebook/Google booking surfaces, availability, bookings and payments in one place, and automated confirmations — no monthly fee. Marketplace commission: 20% one-time (Golf Coach) or 0% commission on the first 10 bookings then 10% on any marketplace bookings (Founding). Direct and social/Google booking links: 0%. Returning golfers: 0%. Card payments include a separate 1.5% + £0.20 processing fee.
Coaches see each golfer’s name and booking details (lesson type, time, venue) in their dashboard — not email addresses or other contact details. Golfa keeps that private.
The first 50 coaches to join are Founding Golf Coaches: 0% commission on your first 10 bookings, then 10% commission on any marketplace bookings. Direct, Instagram, Facebook, and Google booking links stay at 0%; returning golfers stay at 0%. Everyone else is on the Golf Coach plan (20% one-time per new marketplace client).
