Frequently asked questions
Basic is free to use — no card required. On Basic, Golfa takes a 5% commission on direct bookings. On all plans, there is a 20% one-time commission when a new golfer discovers you through the Golfa marketplace (Golfa sourced the client). Pro is £12/mo billed annually (£15/mo monthly) and removes the 5% direct commission. Team is £24/mo billed annually (£29/mo monthly) plus £12/mo per additional coach, with multi-coach club features.
On Basic: direct bookings (your link, Instagram, Facebook, Google) have a 5% Golfa commission. On all plans: new golfers who find you through the Golfa marketplace have a one-time 20% commission — that applies on Basic, Pro, and Team because Golfa sourced the client. Returning golfers who have booked with you before are always 0%. Upgrading to Pro or Team removes the 5% on direct bookings.
Basic: no subscription ever — commission is deducted at payout time. Pro: billed monthly or annually (see toggle). Team: billed monthly or annually; each extra coach is £12/mo. The payment provider also charges a separate 1.9% + £0.25 processing fee on card charges (2.9% + £0.25 for EU cards).
Golfa pays coaches by manual bank transfer using the bank details you add under Settings → Payouts. On Basic, commission is deducted before payout. On Pro and Team, you receive the full amount (minus only the Stripe card processing fee). Each transfer appears in your payout history with a status and invoice.
Stripe processes online card payments on Golfa. Each successful charge includes Stripe's processing fee of 1.9% + £0.25 per transaction (2.9% + £0.25 for EU cards). That is separate from Golfa commission (5% direct on Basic; 20% marketplace on all plans).
No. Golfers pay exactly your listed price — there is no additional booking fee. On the Basic plan, Golfa's commission comes from your side at payout time, not from the golfer.
All plans include: booking link, marketplace listing, individual and group lessons, online coaching subscriptions, gift cards, golf programs, unlimited bookings, coaching messages, voice notes, and confirmations. Pro adds 0% commission, accept payments at venue, priority marketplace profile, analytics, advanced scheduling, weekly payouts, and priority support. Team adds everything in Pro plus multi-coach profiles, club branding, admin dashboard, and team analytics — plus £12/mo per additional coach when billed annually (£12/mo on monthly billing).
Coaches see each golfer's name and booking details (lesson type, time, venue) in their dashboard — not email addresses or other contact details. Golfa keeps that private.
Yes — every coach starts on Basic with no card required. Use it as long as you like. When you're ready to remove commission entirely, upgrade to Pro. Need club-wide features? Go to Team.
